St Mary's, Cowlam

Unnamed Road Cowlam Driffield
(01377) 236785

St. Mary's Church has a loyal Christian congregation who worship God in a central Anglican way. We are part of a Benefice that has a regular home prayer group and regular opportunities to meet for Bible study, prayer and other activities aimed at building our spiritual lives.

This tiny Church nestled in a working farmyard is also known as a ‘Sykes' Church, however its unique claim is that it was built to a design not of Sir Tatton; rather his daughter Mary was the one responsible for the design. One of the Church's blessings is a font dating from the 1130s similar to the one found in St. Peter's Langtoft. The Cowlam font depicts the massacre of the innocents.

St. Mary's Church is one of 6 churches in the Benefice of Waggoners. For more information please go to our Benefice page by clicking on the text below.
